A platform for artists who see possibility in what others discard.
Artgence was founded by Marques Hardin on a simple conviction: that the most meaningful art of our century will be made not from virgin materials, but from the wreckage of our consumption — reclaimed, reimagined, and given a second life by artists whose craft turns refuse into cultural artifact.
Marques Hardin
Marques works between artist studios and collectors, representing artists whose practice begins with what the world throws away — and who turn that material into something worth keeping.
He saw a gap. These artists were making some of the most urgent work of our time, yet they had no dedicated platform to present it to collectors who understood its value — not only aesthetic, but environmental and cultural.
Artgence was born from that gap: a curated marketplace built specifically for artists whose practice is rooted in reclaimed and found materials, giving them a global stage and a community of like-minded collectors.
Circular by design.
Every piece on Artgence begins as something else — industrial metal offcuts, marine plastic washed ashore, construction debris, discarded textiles, electronic waste, reclaimed wood. Our artists share a single commitment: to make work from materials that already exist, rather than extracting new ones.
We believe art should not come at the planet’s expense. Each work in our archive is catalogued with the materials it is made from, the category of waste it draws on, and the artist’s own account of its provenance — recorded, not estimated.
This is not a trend. It is a practice — a way of making that treats the material legacy of our consumption as raw material for cultural creation, and that asks collectors to take part in a circular economy where beauty and responsibility are inseparable.
Artists and collectors, from all over the world.
Artgence represents artists working internationally — each invited for their commitment to found materials and their ability to turn discarded matter into work of genuine cultural significance. The platform lets us reach artists a single physical gallery never could.
Every artist is invited and reviewed. We present their work with the seriousness it deserves — full provenance, material sourcing, environmental information, and a certificate of authenticity for every piece sold.
Artgence is as much for collectors as for artists. It is a place to find people who share your values — who believe that what we make from what we discard says something essential about who we are, and who we want to become.
