Véro Federica Rigole
Belgium
Véro Federica Rigole is a Belgian mixed-media artist whose practice centers on the transformation of reclaimed textiles, found objects, and ex-voto artifacts into layered works of spiritual and material resonance. Working at the intersection of collage, textile art, and sculptural assemblage, she gives discarded materials a second life — crocheted wool from community projects, old-stock fabric, recovered crystals, and devotional objects find new meaning in her compositions. Her participation in the '50 miglia project' (Catena Umana, Brescia/Bergamo Capital of Culture 2023) — a collective crochet work made with reclaimed wool by women, against femicide — informs her commitment to material storytelling and social repair.
“Every material carries a story. My work gives discarded textiles, found objects, and devotional artifacts a second life — transforming waste into works of spiritual and material resonance.”
My practice is rooted in the belief that every material carries a story. I work exclusively with reclaimed textiles, old-stock fabric, recovered objects, and found devotional artifacts — transforming what was discarded into work that honors both the material's past and its new form. The '50 miglia project' taught me that reclaimed wool can carry collective memory and social purpose; that conviction extends to every piece I make.
